Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The students in my classroom are constantly navigating and learning in two languages. We color-code the languages in the classroom to assure metalinguistic awareness. We have a black and white printer that the school utilizes; however, these kindergarteners will benefit from printing in color to highlight language differences in worksheets and tasks; to use engaging materials and games for the students to play with; and post colorful labels and other materials around the room to enhance vocabulary and language acquisition.

Printing in color will help create eye-catching and interesting activities for these bilingual students to learn with.

Additionally, if funded, children will be able to use the iPads to play literacy and math games. To assure that the iPads sustain a long life, we are asking for iPad covers. We want to protect the iPads from bumps and scratches as much as possible!
