My Students

I teach ESOL at a beautiful school located in a very low socioeconomic neighborhood in South Florida, where over 50% of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Many of my students are bilingual. One of the most challenging issues is implementing reading lessons with the lack of technology and visual aids

Now that we are teaching and learning virtually because of COVID-19, the financial situation for most of our students became even worse than before.

We are embarking on yet another new remote learning interface and with it, comes multiple technological challenges. Every child loves technology and learning new things but many of my students have not been exposed to educational opportunities like others.

My Project

We need a multi-functional/All-in-one color printer and ink/toner for our bilingual classroom. If this printer project is funded, our students will have unlimited access to literature that they could print out.

With a colored multifunctional printer, I will be able to create and print out dynamic instructional materials needed for them to improve.

I have been told that in the past, my students were limited because there were no hard copies or insufficient materials to share. A printer in our classroom would mean that every child could access hard copies of their work.
