Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are attending an elementary school in the Washington Heights area of NYC. They are mostly children whose English is their second language. Teachers in our school help our students by having colorful print-rich classrooms with pictures to help the students learn and follow along. I am the science teacher in our school. My students are creative, full of questions, and love doing the work to get those questions answered! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They love to do their research and report on what they are learning.

My Project

All the students in my building will benefit from the printer and science resources I will purchase. I will purchase vocabulary cards, posters, and other science resources to help all the students. Our classrooms will be able to be filled with print-rich colored vocabulary and charts that will pop out at our students to help them learn. I will have the opportunity to make sure all classrooms have Science materials covered without putting more work on the classroom teachers. Our Science fair reports and data sharing will be dazzling this year thanks to this project!!
