Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are in the South Bronx and are in a Title I school. My students are resilient, energetic, kind, and welcoming. They love arts and crafts, math, science experiments, singing, and dancing. They are filled with passion and enthusiasm to learn, no matter what they are going through at home. Most of my students this year had come from other countries and who did not speak English.

What makes them so special is that no matter what they've been through, they still manage to come to school with smiles on there faces.

They love to talk and share ideas with anyone who would listen. When they see a classmate crying or get hurt, they go and check in on them. They are compassionate and understanding at such an early age! They are amazing!

My Project

This project will provide our students with writing journals where they can write and draw, specially as our students are beginning to read and write. Our students being remote are in need of at home materials such as pencils, notebooks, etc.

These materials will be used throughout our day.

Our students are beginning to read and write, as we enter this crucial time I want to be able to provide them with the materials that they need to continue to further their knowledge.

We have began looking at sight words like the, a, like, I, and, etc. This sight words book will help reinforce what we have already been learning. Our journal book will put our students knowledge to work, by creating and forming their own sentences and drawings to company their stories.
