This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Since the beginning of the year, I have been wanting to integrate music into my elementary band program, in a deeper manner besides them learning rhythmic music. After this time of teaching my students about tonal notes, I thought it would be nice to teach them using boom whackers and Glockenspiels. I must say, this year, everything I have introduced to my students has been met with acceptance. Therefore, my goal is to teach students how to read sheet music using the glockenspiels.

Being able to match the tones with what they are reading on the xylophones will help introduce them to the band world and give them another perspective of what it takes to be in the band program.
