My Students
Every day is not easy, but we try our best to have fun. Next year I will be getting a new crop of 7th graders, and I want them to be engaged in the work that we do. I work in a Title I school, and we suffer from the same issues as many other schools that serve these students. Despite the setbacks that we may have, the students are willing to put in the work if you engage them enough.
Throughout the many pitfalls that could befall the children, you would be surprised by how many of them are able to endure no matter what gets thrown their way.
I have a desire to make sure that if they show up to school, I will make school a fun place to spend their time.
My Project
The campus that I will serve has a large ESL population. It is important for the students to be able to look around the room and see materials around the classroom that they can refer to for help. The color printer will enable me to create colorful classroom posters and reference materials that the students can use to take charge of their learning.
Teachers have always known the power of a good anchor chart.
They are a sense of comfort to students who may need a little help remembering the materials. Often teachers have limited access to color printers, so I am hoping to have one that I can use to make materials as needed.
