Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have a powerful idea — they want to create a podcast where their voices can be heard. What makes this project so special is that it was completely their idea. The topics they want to explore — friendships, social media, school life, and even bigger issues like how to respect different opinions — all came from them.

But what’s even more inspiring is who’s part of this group.

These students aren’t the ones who typically work together. They come from different friend groups, backgrounds, and personalities — kids who may have never spoken to each other before. Somehow, this podcast idea brought them together, and now they want to create something that represents all of their voices.

To bring this vision to life, we’re asking for podcast equipment — microphones, headphones, and recording software — so they can produce something they can be proud of. Having real equipment will give them the confidence to know their ideas are worth sharing.

This project is more than just learning how to record a podcast. It’s about giving students a safe space to express themselves, listen to one another, and learn how to have conversations with people who think differently — a skill they’ll carry with them far beyond middle school.

Your support would help these kids feel seen, heard, and valued. It would show them that their voices matter — not just in school, but in the world.
