My Students

I love their laughs and their smiles, despite their low socio-economic status. Everyday they arrive eager to have a fun and safe experience indoors and outdoors. They love to explore within the school. Every month our class studies a different theme that helps them to connect their home experiences with their school experiences. Weekly we review lessons to help them to develop their social skills.

My students love to explore their classroom environment by discovering new ways of playing with various materials.

The love to share, engage with various activities, as well as relax in specific parts of the classroom when they are feeling their various emotions. I love when they use specific areas to help themselves see the brighten their day, despite how their morning routine on their way to school may have been hectic. They love to sit in a particular area with a stuffed animal with a friend to talk and smile and create a warm and positive atmosphere.

My Project

The Preschool Cozy Area encourages the children to be able to have quiet time to themselves in the classroom, as well as hug a soft plush toy and hold their family photo. This area helps the children to be able to be okay with the various feelings that they maybe encountering on a given day or time. Currently, we are using Spongebob, a alien plush and two pillows for them to sit on. The children love the area as of now, but with donations, the area could be enhanced.

Students would be able to enhance their social emotional development as well as their reciprocal communication with both peers and adults.

This enhancement of the cozy area would begin to help the children to develop life learning skills that can be transferred into the various areas of their life.

The new materials would encourage the children to use their expressive communication to relate to their peers as well as develop self control of their feelings and their behavior.
