Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

By participating in the Breathe for Change Mindfulness and Yoga Training, I hope to help my students by giving them the tools necessary for them to stay focused throughout the school day. Current research has shown that people with symptoms of ADHD who practice yoga are doing much better with day to day tasks including focus and attention. By teaching students yoga and mindfulness, I believe there will be more learning in the classroom and an increase in appropriate behaviors in the classroom. By providing students with the tools to be mindful of their words and actions, teachers will spend less time managing behaviors and more time teaching academics. Overall, the Breathe for Change training will help the whole-child and allow them to be successful academically and emotionally.
