My Students

I work at a K-8 Title I school located in the heart of Harlem. Our vibrant neighborhood is filled with a rich history. At our school, most students receive free or reduced rate lunch. Although not rich in resources, my students are the most amazing, passionate, curious thinkers, builders, and explorers. They are learning and growing every day. They enjoy learning, and have a desire to learn, even from home! They motivate me and enrich my passion for teaching. In an effort to close the achievement gap, I would like to obtain resources to enhance learning opportunities whether we are in school or at home.

My Project

To prepare for a successful school year during a pandemic, I want to ensure the students in my class have the basic items they need whether they are learning in the school building or virtually. I also want to provide every student with basic school supplies such as pencils, erasers, and white boards to create a safe learning environment for everyone.

No matter what environment we are in (home or school), students will have items to ensure they are able to engage and complete their assignments.

Despite the challenges of a global pandemic, students can still be set up for success.
