Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

How can any child be successful in school without the proper tools? Each day, many of my wonderful kiddos come to school without the supplies they need. They come without, not because they forgot, but because their family cannot afford to buy them and our underfunded school budget cannot provide it.

My thirty-two amazing students are bright and curious children, who are becoming more independent each day!

My students attend a high poverty, public, elementary school in Pennsylvania. We are a Title One, low-income school. Since many of our students come from a home where food is not always plentiful, all students are served breakfast in the classroom. Many families work long, hard hours to make sure their children have clothes on their backs and a roof over their heads. We are heavily populated with English Language Learners. Having such a large ELL population makes each classroom very diverse and full of life, but it also comes with a fair share of challenges.

My Project

My students will be able to start the school year off on the right foot. They will have the ability to rise to any goal and surpass it because they have the proper tools they need- pencils, crayons, copy books, scissors, and erasers. This project will also bring my students confidence, knowing they have tools to succeed.

By donating to our project, you will be helping thirty-two children gain confidence and have the required tools needed for success in the first grade.

Due to the lack of funding in our district, our school cannot purchase these basic supplies for our well-deserving children
