Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

This year I will be working with some spunky fourth-grade students who have a lot of energy. The bulk of my students are Hispanic and Asian decent and I love the culture they bring to our classroom and school community. Also, I work with students with special needs as well as English Language Learners. My students are visual, auditory and kinesthetic learners. My current students enjoy reading graphic novels, making videos on Tik Tok and spend a lot of time on Roblox.

My students enjoy learning from each other and loving sharing their personal experiences.

They help each other and are encouraged to learn from each other. Fourth grade is an important year for my students because it determines what middle school they will go to. You can bet these students will be working hard this year.

My Project

This year, we will be reading The Tiger Rising and Number the Star during the fictional and historical fiction story. I wanted to have enough copies of the text so students can annotate with their reading and writing partners.

Having enough copies allow my student with special needs to following along and stay engaged during the read aloud.

During our weather unit and historical fiction unit, students need a lot of text resources and as of now, my class is limited on bins. We make a lot of charts during the year and I want to be able to preserve my charts.

I am looking forward to an exciting year full of learning with a fully equipped classroom.
