My Students

I have the pleasure of the teaching and working with seniors who are at risk for not graduating due to many circumstances. My students attend a Title I school and come from low socioeconomic backgrounds. They lack the necessary materials they need to be successful outside the classroom, and I am striving to make sure they have what they need inside the classroom.

My students face many challenges, but they are working hard each day to face those challenges head on.

I help my students find resources to succeed and graduate on time. This includes enrolling them into dual-credit courses at the local community colleges and getting financial assistance for the ACT. I enjoy seeing my seniors each day and I am helping them reach their full potential.

My Project

My job as their teacher/graduation coach is to provide my students with the resources they need to make sure they graduate from high school. They may be lacking a course or a test that is preventing them from getting the credits they need to graduate. I help them register for the ACT and dual credit courses at the local community college. I also help them with finding resources they need outside of school as they prepare to be independent students.

I want my students to have all the materials they need to facilitate their learning.

Having a laptop will help my seniors with filling out the FASFA, college applications, ACT and scholarships. I am afforded to have one-on-one sessions with them and the laptop will help assist with that effort. I want the best for them and want them to succeed pass the classroom.
