My Students

My students are creative, thoughtful, and full of questions! They love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! Each day, they come to school ready to try new things and take brave chances to grow both personally and academically.

Our school is nestled in the heart of Brooklyn, East New York.

Each child in my classroom loves learning, although the method and environment in which they learn best vary greatly. We incorporate various learning strategies, group work, and alternative seating and learning options to ensure that each student's needs are met right where they are! They are indeed an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners excited and ready to learn each year!

My Project

Having snacks on hand is so very important in all student's lives. Some of my students come to school with healthy snacks but most of my students do not.

I want the students not to feel any different about themselves if they don’t have a fun child-friendly snack.

My students ask to take home the extra milk and cereal from the school building to share with their parents and siblings at home. It would be wonderful if I was able to send home extra snacks with them. Most of my students are living way below poverty levels.
