My Project

As Universal PreK was passed, thousands of Colorado four-year-olds are entering PreK for the first time. Help me provide mental health support to these students by helping them learn about emotions and feelings, learn how to self-regulate and practice their friendship skills. Due to Universal PreK being a brand new program, many of the preschools I support do not have any social emotional resources or are slowly building up their classroom. I will distribute these across classrooms as well as use with individual students with whom I work directly with. These items will help create a therapeutic environment, including the tiles and books to provide support for all students. The social emotional books will be used during circle time with all students to teach emotional regulation, emotion identification and social skills.
