This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our classroom is a preschool program for children below the age of five. My students are three years old that come from different cultural and social-economic backgrounds in the state of Camden, New Jersey. We have 15 children in our classroom. They are thoughtful and come every day to school full of questions. They love hands-on activities that allow them to be creative and work together in finding solutions. They are curious, enthusiastic, and creative, as well as eager to immerse themselves in any challenge. I love being a preschool teacher and seeing their little faces smiling and getting excited.

My Project

Preschoolers in the block area learn social and emotional growth. Blocks help children learn to take turns and share materials, develop new friendships, become self-reliant, increase attention span, cooperate with others, and develop self-esteem. Block area requires fine and gross motor skills. Building with blocks stimulates learning in all domains of development, intellectual, physical, and social-emotional and language.

The goal in preschool math is to help children develop a sense of math around them, to notice and use numbers, and to use math concepts to explore their world.

These materials would be used to provide more learning activities in the block area, math area, and discovery area.

They would promote development of language, cognitive, math, social, and fine motor skills.
