Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are embarking on a new journey within our preschool program. We want to introduce our students to people and their cultures through musical experiences like dancing and learning how to play various instruments from around the world.

Many of our students are from a variety of different backgrounds and bring a lot of cultures to our classroom and we want to explore those differences and similarities to bring us together, to form bonds and love for each other through active learning experiences.

We want our students to be well rounded and share their experiences with us in a way that allows them to be free and accepted by all.

The Djembe drums are an amazing contribution to African culture. They have had the wonderful opportunity to actually play one and it was so much fun that we want to keep this momentum going within our program. What better way to build their understanding than to have some of our very own to use and cultivate a deeper understanding of where they come from and how they are used.

The jingle bells and Kazoos will bring a new element to the sounds of the drums and support us in making our very own music to share with others.

Could you imagine our little ones performing for our families and school community as a whole?! I think it would be breathtaking and an honorable way to show others what we are learning and the importance of keeping music alive and well within our youth and future leaders of tomorrow.

What they will learn will stay with them for years to come and build an interest in the arts and cultures of the world. Your donations will help build a since of pride and respect in our little ones. We thank you!
