This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with 20 wonderful and inquisitive Pre-Kindergarten students in a very diverse school in Brooklyn, New York. We have children from many different cultures in our class and children with many special abilities.

Our Pre-K students love to learn new things daily!

For many of these children, it is their first year in school. They are learning about themselves, others, school rules, routines, and many new concepts in various subjects, including learning about sports and team work! They have many opportunities to explore what kind of learner they are and learn concepts in many different ways!

My Project

Young children are a bundle of energy! Why not direct that energy in being healthy and active? That is just what I want to do for my Pre-K students! My Pre-K students go to a big school playground each day but they need sports equipment to use on it! They have shown a great interest in learning the sport of soccer and I would like to give them the opportunity to learn it! All we need is the equipment to get started!

The children would benefit from a variety of sports equipment to learn different sports and sportsmanship.

We need playground sport gear such as soccer nets, a soccer ball, a ball pump, scooter boards for racing, cones, various balls, hoops to play various other sports (all found in the Kaplan gross motor skills kit), and a wagon to help us haul our sports equipment into the schoolyard!

My goal is for the children to learn how to have fun while being active, exercise daily, learn new sports skills, learn how to work in a team toward a common goal, and possibly find a sport they may grow a life long love for!

We would greatly appreciate any help you can give our little Super Soccer Sport Stars towards getting the sports equipment we need!
