Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are special because they are unique. My Pre K bilingual students are raised in a low SES community. This is the community where I was raised, which is why I am teaching at M. elementary. I want to give back to our community, the community who saw me grow up and become the best teacher I can be. Our school has been recently affected by hurricane Harvey. I lost all materials, including the materials parents had left in my classroom for their children. We are moving location and have to start all over. However, my students inspire me and I know we will be okay.

My Project

These books can make a difference in my students' learning because it will help them become outstanding readers. Young learners need to be introduced to the magical world of books and reading! These books will improve their school lives because students will discover a new world in books. We are going through some rough times because of hurricane Harvey and all I want is for my students to forget about this traumatic experience and fill their minds with positive thoughts which can be found in books. Because of the hurricane, I lost all of my classroom books, school is about to start and I still don't have a classroom library.
