Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have begun to help my students develop a love of learning through engaging and interactive play. I invest heavily in my students' education and well-being and our Stepping Up Ceremony is an opportunity for their families and I to come together to celebrate our little learners and wish them well on the next stage of their lives, kindergarten. Many of my students come from low income families and my goal is to provide their adults a gift that they can present to their children in recognition of all the wonderful work they've done over the course of the year. I selected these books to help parents and students engage in conversations about kindergarten and what to expect. This is a big change for many children and these books will help them develop confidence and comfort, as they embark in this next step. I have chosen a title in Spanish to support the language needs of the diverse learners and their families.
