My Project

I am privileged to teach 18 wonderful PreK three and four year old children in an inner city urban school.

They are curious, active and constantly learning and really need time to rest and revive with a comfortable and safe nap.

We have a lot of action in our classroom, and after lunch, the children look forward to their much needed rest! Unfortunately, we have been using the same rest mats for years and years. Most of them are torn and tattered with spongy filling pouring out of the edges. Not only is this an eyesore, but is very unsanitary, and could pose a choking hazard for curious youngsters! We have taped the ends with duct tape, but really need to completely replace these mats in poor and hazardous condition.

I am requesting folding rest mats to replace the ones we have, which are in the worst condition. The Lakeshore mats requested conveniently fold for storage. They are nice and thick, to pad the children's sleeping surface, and can easily be wiped clean and sanitized.

Having a comfortable, sanitary and safe place to rest not only makes children feel secure, it also allows them to recharge their batteries for more active learning during the rest of our day.
