Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

When teaching students a particular skill at school, behavior management has become much more challenging for teachers due to a lack of resources and toys.

In order to help my students (many of them have autism) focus on pre-academic skills, and reduce their challenging behavior, they need enough sensory play and input to meet their sensory needs.

These various sensory toys will provide my students with the tools to help them release energy and feel calm afterwards. They love to play with different sensory toys and all other soft toys. At the same time, sensory play promotes fine motor skills, language development, and social-emotional skills in students. They use their fingers more in games and myself or the expert working with my students can provide additional language input during the game.
