Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I have been teaching for 24 years but this September will be like no other. I will be teaching Pre-K for the first time and I am so excited. Our Pre-K program began over a decade ago and it is time for a refresh of some the classroom furniture and materials. I would like to make the classroom a warm, welcoming, and happy place for my students and I believe that the classroom organization, set-up, and materials are the right place to start. The shoe bins will be used to keep each student's change of clothes (accidents happen in Pre-K and backup clothes are a must). The couch in the classroom I will be using is peeling and has seen better days. I want our classroom library to be an inviting place for the littlest readers to explore picture and board books. The colorful baskets will be used to organize the classroom's library for my students.
