My Students

In September, I will teach a pre-k Special Education class consisting of 12 students. I know I will have an eclectic group of bright minds. I've had an opportunity to view some of my students' IEPs and realize my students have unique and diverse learning styles and special needs.

This project will assist me with creating a great nurturing learning environment for my students.

I plan on using the material to creat lessons that will support the students at their ZPD (Zone of Proximal Development) and learning styles. For example, the tablets will support students who are visual learners. Whereas, the mini boards will support students who are kinesthetic learners. As a new teacher, my goal is to create a fun learning atmosphere that will encourage students to be active learners for life.

My Project

This is my first year teaching, so I need various items to help begin the school year. I am excited to teach pre-k and ready to embrace the various challenges. These items will support my students learning and development. Unfortunately, all parents are not financially able to donate to the class. That is why I selected Lysol wipes to help keep the room clean and students healthy. I also selected books that will help support students with being away from their parents. As an early childhood educator, I understand the importance of making sure lessons are differentiated to help students succeed. The various items I have ordered will support the different learning styles and needs of students.

I work in a community where there are limited resources and materials.

Donations will allow me to create an environment that will support and encourage learning.
