This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My classroom consists of special education preschool students who benefit from participating in hands-on STEM activities. Research has shown that STEM supports the development of creativity, reasoning skills, early thinking, and intellectual development. STEM is an important part of any preschool curriculum and is based on curiosity, inquiry, and play.
These resources will help create a multisensory experience in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The rainbow liquid sensory viewers allow students to explore the properties of liquids such as color mixing and they can experiment with the colors. The washable sensory set has students participate in a tactile exploration in our sensory bins. The stamping sticks uppercase will be a great addition to our science centers when students observe objects and write the word using the stampers. The two magnetic mazes introduce students to the concepts of magnetism and spatial awareness. Students can use the velcro play food to build their own play kitchen and learn about nutrition and production. Using the flower garden pieces, students can build a play garden by bending and manipulating the pieces to flower stems. Play-doh can be used to measure objects, build structures, and experiment with different textures.
