My Project

I have the great privilege of working with 20 vibrant, curious and excited 3-4 year old students in an urban Brooklyn school. They are quick to ask questions, participate, and jump in to explore and discover. This is their very first year of school, and I love to set their expectations high. They will learn to discover, explore with confidence, and develop a lifetime love of learning.

Through positive experiences of taking care of others (even a pet), we can encourage children's ambitions for responsibility, animal discovery, and school success, all the way into adulthood!

Experts often recommend as a basic need, that early childhood classrooms include a pet to foster animal appreciation and responsibilities for young children. The Beta fish tank and habitat will provide a safe place for our pet, and an easy way for the children to observe him. The supplies will also allow the children to learn about fish, and participate in pet care. We will also have a wonderful resource for mindfulness and calm when they enjoy watching our fish in the beautiful environment we create.

By donating to this project you will be providing for our pet and help children learn about and care of another life form. Perhaps you will even launch the early career of a future marine biologist!
