Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a struggling, high-needs, urban neighborhood in New York City. Our school community is a warm, nurturing environment and the children enjoy coming to school.

The parents of our students are working hard to make better lives for their families and desire a stellar education for their children.

My little ones are curious, funny, imaginative, loving, creative, honest, and cute. The community is diverse and considerably low income. The children I teach are all eager to learn and are enthusiastic. My classroom is comprised of children who have different abilities.

My Project

I love teaching Pre-K and I hear my preschoolers love Pre-K. I love hearing music in our little homey classroom and the children love to sing. All you really need is love in all its forms. Children love to explore rhythm and movement and they love to sing. I am requesting items that will warm children's bodies and souls!

Preschoolers need to sing and I would like the children to perform on stage at our school.

Music encourages children to explore their feelings and to establish positive relationships with others. I am requesting 18 adorable, meaningful t-shirts for the children to wear at the show. The shirts will be a gift to the children after the show. I am also requesting snacks, a story book and a craft for after the show. I am always trying to provide a happy classroom atmosphere for my young students.

All of these items will help the children feel happy and will also teach them to feel good about living, working and playing together! This program will encourage the children to engage in group activities, explore rhythm and movement, improve coordination, complete a craft and listen to a story. I believe this program could help my young students learn many early childhood concepts as well as build their self-esteem and cooperation skills. Thank you so much for taking the time to read my proposal and for caring about the education of children.
