This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Teaching Pre-k is the most rewarding experience. My students are tiny people on a mission to learn. They are fun, exciting, curious, and are absorbing all kinds of knowledge about school and the world around them. As an educator, I strive to ignite their curiosity and introduce them to the most wonderful experiences.

As we embark on this new school year I would like to create an inviting and literacy-rich​ environment with various stimulating activities for the best pre-k experience a child could ever imagine.

My Project

Having a listening center in our classroom will help support the Universal design for learning (UDL) approach that we follow at our school and in my classroom. It allows for students to absorb learning through an auditory experience in addition to various learning modalities. A listening center will also help my students with pre-reading​ skills. Audio books expose students to certain skills required to read such as listening, which is a skill necessary for learning to read.

Apart from the listening center, Having puppets in the classroom helps students with the development of social/emotional skills.

Puppets are also a good way to deliver information to students and help them retain it.
