My Students

My students live in Brooklyn. For most of my students it is there first school experience. Our class is extremely diverse with all students receiving free breakfast and lunch everyday. There is a wide variety of different learning abilities in my class. I have many different providers coming into the class to service half of my class. Special Education Itinerant Teachers, occupational, physical, and speech therapists come in and out of our room throughout the day to help our students succeed.

My Project

My classroom learns through center based play. At such a young age it is important for children to learn their on way and and through discovery and curiosity. Help me give my students some fun sensory experiences with kinetic sand, etc. This will provide them with the opportunity to build and create. It is very important for children to use their imagination to express themselves. Everything in Pre-K is hands on. The children are able to work on their fine motor skills and learn best through play and tactile activities. The best way for them to learn is by creating themselves!
