My Students
I set out to have my Pre-K students participate in a rigorous Physical Education program, where we help to develop gross and fine motor development. We use many physical education techniques to enhance the development of students at an early age. Students are learning to love physical activities and engage in different areas of sports and fitness. My students participate in Physical Education activities that strengthen their skills in movement, balance, and fine & gross motor skills. My students come from diverse backgrounds and are at various skill levels, some are very athletic where as others have never learned to skip or run. Students engage in various activities to demonstrate fair-play, respect, coordination and combine motor skills with and without equipment.
My Project
In our Pre-K curriculum we have students ride tricycles, but do not have the access to equipment for students who are ahead of the game and ready to ride bicycles. I would like to have some bikes on hand for students who are ready to learn how to balance on a two wheeled bicycle. I believe the balance bikes will help me to teach balance and coordination, and get students ready to ride two wheelers.
My students who are proficient on tricycles, need to be challenged on two wheeled bicycles.
The skills that they need to pedal on a two wheeler, will be explored and experienced with the balance bikes.
