Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work with 20 wonderful and inquisitive Pre-Kindergarten students in a very diverse school in Brooklyn, New York. We have children from many different cultures in our class and children with many special abilities.

Our Pre-K students love to learn new things daily!

For many of these children, it is their first year in school. They are learning about themselves, others, school rules, routines, and many new concepts in various subjects. They have many opportunities to explore what kind of learner they are and learn concepts in many different ways!

My Project

I would love to help my students learn using the newest technology in our Pre-K classroom! Our school provides an ELMO but I have nothing to project the information on. Due to limited space in our classroom, we can not have big and bulky equipment, so portable items are most appropriate to use as needed and store when not in use. We would love a portable projection screen to use in our classroom!

Often times when we are trying to present new information and lessons to our class, it is hard for kids to see the examples and truly interact.

This screen will allow everyone the chance to see the examples we are using when teaching certain concepts that require visual examples. It would be especially useful for visual learners. It also helps the children to understand and ask questions. I want my students to learn how to use new technology and utilize it to learn new concepts. Having this projector will allow us to use the ELMO in our classroom and have the tools we need to succeed!
