My Students

Students in preschool spend most of their day on the floor. My students deserve a clean and comfortable place to explore and play. We also need someplace safe to dry our art creations.

I teach a preschool class consisting of 3, 4, and 5 year old children.

Many of them are experiencing school for the first time and are excited to explore their environment. My students have developmental delays and require additional resources to access their environment and meet their many sensory needs. They attend a large public school in a typical classroom. This presents the challenge of creating a class that is developmentally appropriate in both size and materials. My preschool students are eager learners and deserve the best!

My Project

I teach two half-day classes consisting of Pre-K students with special needs. We use our carpet for circle time, small groups, free time, and library center. Between the two classes, our carpet receives lots of wear and tear! In addition, we currently don't have a carpet surface for the library center. My students need a clean and soft space to learn and explore. Our class loves to create! Creating helps my students express themselves and develop fine motor skills. We paint daily and have to find places to dry our work. Currently, we have art all over the room drying. A mobile drying rack will help us keep art work organized and out of the way of exploring students.
