My Students

Our band students are extremely diverse. Many speak Russian, Spanish, Chinese, Urdu, or Uzbek and home. However, despite their differences, they all come together to make music. The great thing about our band program is that you don't need to be an academic all-star to be successful. We all communicate through the language of music, so everyone has the same fair shot to be outstanding.

Our students are outstanding and take music very seriously.

We have won many awards for outstanding performances and have packed concerts at school. Our students' parents value their music education.

My Project

We all know how important practicing one's instrument is. Students who consistently practice at home are often the most successful musicians in our band program. Part of play in the percussion section means that students learn how to play keyboard percussion instruments like xylophone and bells. Students can practice this instrument at home on a practice bells set.

Currently, percussionists are unable to practice as easily or frequently putting them all at a disadvantage.

Our percussionists at 5 portable keyboard bells sets that they can bring home to practice. There are 18 of them so they all share. Before playing quizzes and concerts, we never have enough bells sets to go around. We want all 18 of our percussionists to have an equal opportunity to practice their mallet percussion parts at home.

We need 13 more bells sets so each student can bring home a bells set.
