My Project

My students are a group of emerging multilingual learners who are learning and growing to be readers, writers, mathematicians, as well as caring members of their communities.

In my growth-themed classroom, students will be able to practice their listening, speaking, and reading skills with their reading buddy, Perri the Potted Plant.

The 30-inch mascot will accompany and motivate the 1st Graders on their journey to achieving their goals. As students develop a love for their reading buddy, they will also be made aware of the lives that are growing in their environment and learn ways to be agents of change and protectors of the environment.

Included in the project are reusable materials for students to practice their academic skills while developing sustainable habits.
