The resiliency of our students in this post-pandemic era is incredible. Students are so eager and curious to learn, and itching to stretch their minds every day.
While their love of learning is strong, there is no denying that COVID-19 and the lapse in classroom instruction have brought challenges as well.
I always strive to make my classroom one where any student around the school feels welcomed and as if they belong there. Students know they can come in for a listening ear, for a snack, for hygiene products, or just to say hi. This year already, we've gone through bulk packs of breakfast foods, toothbrushes, feminine care products, and deodorant, as students don't always have access to them at home. With this project, I hope to restock these necessary hygiene products, recess equipment to promote physical health, fidgets for attention and focus support, and snacks for students who may not have at home!
