My Project

My school is a Title I school, located in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, NY. Our student population is culturally diverse with a fast growing ENL student body. A huge number of our student population are from low-income households and many are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom including living in temporary housing. Despite those challenges, our students come to school excited, eager to learn and interact with their classmates

My students love hands-on learning and practicing new things.

My class is a bridge self-contained class (k-2), with students on different spectrum of the learning curve and learning through different modalities. In my class, I have English speaking students as well as ENL's and non-verbal students. I will use the resources from TPT to target much needed skills in math and literacy. My students love working and playing with play-doh and will enjoy using the play-doh mats resources from TPT to help with math. The printable worksheets will be used to help my students practice skills in both math and literacy. For literacy, my goal is to help my students become better readers. TPT has literacy center activities that target the necessary skills to help them become better readers, like letter/sound recognition, sight word recognition, tracing worksheets and so much more!
