My Students

Steve Jobs said, "I am a very big believer in equal opportunity as opposed to equal outcome. Equal opportunity to me, more than anything, means a great education." We could make sure that every young child in this country got a great education. My students all deserve a great education.

Today's world is competitive.

It is becoming more and more difficult for me and my students to keep up with the advancing technologies available to them. I have students that range from freshman 9th graders to graduate preparing Seniors. I teach several different courses from Ceramics, Digital Photography, Commercial and Advertising Art and a Careers class to prepare students for job and education options and skills. I have students who are already starting their own businesses and applying for college and gaining skills for a the future. For many of my students, my classroom is the only place that they will gain these skills. Being a teacher of many subjects I move around the school and use several classrooms but there is not always a computer available for my students and I to use for presentation, collaboration, planning, project editing and project display.

My Project

With this requested Apple MacBook laptop I will be more mobile to move throughout the school into my different classes. Both my students and I will be able to connect to the classroom projectors. The laptop will be used by the students to take photo shoots and edit and post their photos on site using programs like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign. For some classes we make small videos, and students will be able to connect to the laptop and edit their projects.

With your donations for this Apple MacBook laptop my students will have access to more advanced technology in a more mobile classroom setting, rather than just the computer labs.

When my students have more access to technology for planning, presentations, collaboration, project editing and project publishing they will gain more skills that will prepare them and give them an edge in a more competitive world.
