Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our goal for our robotics team is to encourage students to learn more about mechanic, engineering, and programming. These robotic tools can help with the mechanic and engineering with these advance and new tools. These new tools can help with building our robot for this year's competition. Being able to put small action cameras on certain parts of robot gives the ability to see the robots' functions perform for a unique point of view. Which is valuable data to inform our students design decisions.

As our engineering program expands, we want to showcase more disciplines of engineering to our students.

With these additional tools we can bring electrical engineering to our students. Showing them the starting principles and understanding of foundational electrical engineering concepts.

Working as a team, meeting challenges creatively and collaboratively, all while using STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) related skills. We strive to provide high school students with opportunities to experience real-world engineering through robotics. It's especially meaningful because our school serves a diverse demographic. Many of our students will be the first in their family to attend 4-year institution as well. We not only give an outlet to our brightest students but also give one to those that are hardworking and have aspirations. Every year, our students are given 6 weeks to build a robot to fulfill a task at the competition. As the varsity sport for the mind, our FRC Robotics team competes in the excitement of sport, with the rigors of science and technology. We challenge our students to build and program a robot to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. Perhaps more importantly than the hands-on experience, will be the non-technology skills we will develop--the leadership, problem solving, and everyday life skills that will prepare us for our futures.
