Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a low economic area of New York. Most of the students that come to our school come well below their grade level in regards to reading. These students need opportunities to familiarize themselves with books that they would never have a chance to read on their own time. My students do not have the same advantages that students have in more wealthy neighborhoods. These students have the drive, they just need the resources!

My Project

These school supplies will give my students some of the tools they need to be successful. With all of this new paper, many copies will be made and the students will be able to differentiate between handouts and levels based on colors. Also, with all of these new pens and highlighters, students will be able to track their reading with some underlining and highlighting! Additionally, with the new desk organizers each group will be able to have many supplies at their own desk. When the students have the supplies right at their hands, it will make it that much easier for them to succeed!
