Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Curious, inquisitive and adventurous---that's the best way to describe my fifth grade class. They are always eager to learn and share their creative ideas with others. Although they are talented, they wish to have creative outlets of self-expression. This project will help them visualize and enhance their work through technology.

Let's get them excited about learning and give them the tools to help them succeed!

Since we are a federally designated Title I school in the heart of Miami, most of my students come from predominantly low-income homes, but they are eager to learn.

We have the honor of working in an inclusion class where many students have disabilities or have difficulty learning. Please help my students achieve beyond their exceptionalities and provide them with the confidence, knowledge, and tools they need to succeed. With your help, we can make sure they are able to succeed, especially with the power of learning through technology.

My Project

Technology has helped students learn in new and exciting ways. The new challenge is organizing and charging all the devices to have them readily available for students. This means they can spend more time enhancing their learning on computers rather than trying to find the devices, chargers, and peripherals. This project will provide a clear center for technology to be accessible to students in an organized hub.

Help us wrangle our tech peripherals, charge devices, and supplies to help make technology accessible to all students.

My goal is to quench my students' curiosity by allowing them to explore our fascinating world without leaving our classroom. Help me expand my classroom and immerse them in the amazing world that surrounds us using the tools of the 21st century.

We always need to replenish printer ink, find creative storage ideas, and print projects and certificates to encourage student learning. The use of a document camera will permit students to model and present their work to the class or small groups. The USB charging hubs and charger cables will keep our tablets, iPods and Kindles charged and ready to be used. The UPS battery backup will ensure that more expensive laptops and printers are safe during power surges that occur regularly and have caused our devices to malfunction in the past. The garbage cans offer a hack to store chargers by groups, making it easier to distribute when needed.

After doing some research on creative ways to use voice search in the classroom, the Amazon Alexa can help us add audiobooks, timers, music, and interesting facts to our lessons.
