My Students
So we finally have iPads but not an effective strategy to avoid the dreaded low battery message. My students are very excited to use the iPads as they work as scientists, but those iPads need recharging.
My school, a preK - 8th grade school, is one of the highest poverty schools in my school district.
I teach fifth and sixth grade science. My students participate in a variety of student-centered, hands-on activities. Too many of my students are at risk of performing below grade level across subject areas.
I am committed to closing the achievement gap for my students. To accomplish this, I offer students an enriched learning environment by integrating science into other subject areas and pushing students to use higher order thinking skills when engaging in scientific inquiry.
My Project
I was recently awarded a grant to purchase iPads for my students. Fantastic news, however, I need a method to quickly charge the 10 iPads my young scientists will use. Students will use the iPads to record their scientific inquiry and produce a newsletter to send home to parents about all their scientific endeavors.
After 5 classes use those iPads, the iPads will need to be ready for the next day of work. I can't afford the expensive iPad tray to charge 10 Ipads, but with your help I can get 2 XtremeMac InCharge X5 charging stations. Each station will allow me to charge 5 iPads at a time.
I am committed to providing my students a high quality education.
Every time I am awarded a grant, I use the funding to level the playing field for my learners. It is important that I infuse technology into my instruction as much as possible. Your donation toward purchasing the XtremeMac InCharge X5 Charging Station will help me accomplish this important endeavor.
