This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our team, The Storm, is a dedicated group of young athletes, all eager to strengthen their skills, resilience, and teamwork. The equipment I’m requesting—a softball pitching net, rebounder nets, agility rings, weighted training balls, a strength training tank, and more—will each play a pivotal role in their growth. The pitching and rebounder nets offer my players a safe, consistent way to practice pitching, accuracy, and reaction time, which are crucial skills for competitive play. Agility rings will enhance their speed and footwork, while weighted training balls and the tank provide vital strength training, building the physical power and endurance they need to compete at their best.

Goals for this project

My goal is to create a comprehensive training program that addresses the full range of athletic skills required in softball: precision, agility, and strength. With these tools, our practices will become more effective and purposeful, allowing each athlete to make noticeable improvements that directly impact their game. We hope to compete at a higher level and instill confidence in each player as they develop their abilities and see the results of their hard work.

What makes my students special?

The Storm is more than just a team; these girls are resilient, committed, and driven, hailing from an area where opportunities can be scarce. They are determined to prove that with support and access to the right resources, they can achieve greatness. Their passion for the game fuels their commitment to training and improvement, and these resources will enable them to continue growing, regardless of the obstacles they face.
