My students are tactile, hands-on learners entering the art room for the first time in their middle school career. My students are energetic and always looking for ways to help out. They live in a diverse community and look to find inspiration from around the globe in the Visual Art realm.
Classroom artists explore many different mediums and look to enhance their techniques through different approaches.
My students are creative and seek out ways to expand their various talents. They continually evolve and grow.
My Project
Low fire clay and glazes will be used in this community awareness project, showcasing a giving heart in the eyes of the artist. Students will create dog dishes with the sole purpose of selling them in order to raise money for our local animal shelter (100% of the proceeds!) these colorful creations will be offered to the community after completion and will be food and drink safely. The vessels will be created in the slump mold style and will fulfill the Virginia Standards of Learning in Visual Arts for Middle School students. Students will see that artists sometimes create art to be auctioned for charity.
