Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in an inner-city struggling through issues of language barriers, crime, violence, and poverty, but despite it all, they foster and maintain a high level of hope and pride in their city.

The culture of the community is highly creative and expressive in many aspects of the arts, from visual arts to theater, from music to dance.

The people and students here support and embrace the creative arts unlike many wealthier areas, and the people shine very brightly because of it.

My Project

My students will work in person at school this year to create bold portraits in ink on paper. The generous donations made to help fund this project are much appreciated.

With your help we are able to purchase high-quality art supplies such as watercolor paper, drawing inks, brushes, and Sharpies.

The students I serve would not have access to these costly materials without the help of DonorsChoose and the wonderful support from individuals like you.

I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to consider donating to help out some underserved students express themselves through the art-making process of portraiture.
