This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students do not come from the wealthiest families. They do not have the best things. They are low-income, immigrant families, mainly from Spanish-speaking countries. They work hard and care about education.
We live in NY and go to a NYC public school.
They try their best every day. The students all get free lunch and most of the supplies they have are the basics; pencils, paper, book bags, and the supplies needed for daily school life. I try to supply as much as I can to lift the burden of money from the families.
My Project
Post-it notes allow us to write feedback and do work without using tape and damaging the work and or the walls of the room. I am asking for large chart paper sized Post-it paper to create anchor charts in all subjects for the children. This allows us to move the charts around to where they are needed the most without ruining it. The smaller Post-its allow the students to do work, and give feedback to each other as well as the teacher. Post-it notes lessens the mess in the room.
