My Students

As a NYC public school we have been remote learning for the last several weeks, and will continue to do so for the remainder of the school year.

My students are creative, enthusiastic, and unique individuals.

They are very social and look to each other and myself for support.

Currently, we are using the google classroom as a platform for learning. In addition, we use google meets to keep in touch with the students and give the students the opportunity to see their teachers and classmates. Our school buildings were shut down suddenly, and students thought they would be returning before the school year ended. Many students depend on us for emotional support. Some have not had contact with anyone outside their homes during the course of this pandemic.

My Project

My students have been distance learning for several weeks, and will not be returning to the school building this academic school year. They have been doing the assignments the best they can.

The students are home without the socialization they desperately need and crave.

The students miss seeing each other and interacting with me. This Pixelbook will enable me to host live sessions for yoga, mindfulness, or just to chat and catch up. We can relieve the stress and anxiety with games, dancing, and just being able to chat.

Many students have become care takers to siblings and are struggling with schoolwork. Their circumstances are causing turmoil. Help me, help them have an outlet for their emotions.
