My Students

My students come to school to learn. They look for and desire to explore, determined to find an experience. They are beginning to understand the wonderful experience a good education can offer!

I teach in a Title I school where 100% of the school receives free lunch.

My students live in a high poverty area. Access to literacy and supplies are key to their success, and such access begins and ends within our school walls. There are many things they will never be able experience in real life that, with your help, I can offer.

Learning to achieve in a safe environment is essential. In order to create that safe environment, I use positive incentives. These items are imperative to give students something to work for, their paycheck in school life. It is with your help that I will be able to continue to inspire achievement through positively reinforcing behaviors!

My Project

Positive behavior reinforcements are imperative to student engagement and learning. In the classroom, it becomes increasingly difficult to find the right blend of incentives to get students motivated.

The items I have selected are things the students specifically asked to have available for them to earn for their positive behavior rewards.

It is my goal that the students will work meet all academic and behavior expectations by working to obtain items that they themselves have chosen.

These rewards will impact student learning and the environment they learn in by providing the needed motivation to follow school rules and expectations, much like a paycheck does for adults.
