My Students

Our school has a well blended community of students who are of varying cultures. While many students were born and raised in the surrounding community, others are new to the city or even to the country. This allows us to share our unique experiences and learn from each other. Unfortunately, our students will have to spend part of another school year learning from home.

Distance learning can be quite challenging for many of our students and we want to provide a positive incentive for those students who are trying their best.

Our school participates in the PBIS (Positive Behaviors and Supports) program, and offers various opportunities for students to shine when they do their best! Despite our distance learning limitations, we are still reaching out to students to demonstrate our appreciation for their hard work and dedication.

My Project

Due to Covid-19, our district is 100% virtual at this time. This has forced us all to adapt to a new way of teaching and learning. One of changes we need to make is the way we manage our students and their behavior in an online classroom.

Managing students from a distance can pose some unique challenges.

Each teacher has rules and expectations put in place; however, it is up to the students, who are learning at home, to abide by these guidelines.

Our school-wide PBIS (Positive Behavior Incentive and Support) program is the perfect support for the teachers, as it provides incentives for the students and encourages them to follow the rules set by the teachers.
