My Project

In my special education classes, I foster student self-esteem and confidence through thoughtful activities that build their ability to persevere and be successful in their lives. By providing achievable challenges that stretch their abilities, they develop a belief in themselves that they will carry throughout their lives. Many students with disabilities face multiple challenges that can stifle their ability to focus on learning. By providing positive feedback when they are demonstrating the positive behaviors that will benefit their learning, they are encouraged to utilize those strategies in the future.

Your caring contribution to our classroom, will encourage students to build their self-esteem, engage more in their learning, hone their focusing skills, and promote perseverance.

When students are focused, engaged, and demonstrating positive student strategies they receive tickets as instant verification that they are on the path to success. Classes look forward to the drawing at the end of each week. The prizes that you are awarding them! The students get very excited to choose what they get as a prize.

My students are a diverse group with many different interests, strengths and needs. I surveyed the students to see what types of prizes they would like. This selection of prizes has items that are appealing to each of them. Thanks so much for your investment in the future of these students' lives.
