Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I would like to enhance my classroom by providing students with a variety materials to support their mental health. One thing I would like to do is provide students in need of organizational support with binders and filler paper. These, in addition to district provided folders, will help those student be better prepared for the recent addition of open-notes lab benchmark assessments added to the curriculum. Their mental health will be improved when they are able to easily locate and access their materials. I would also like to encourage students to form strong study habits by having an example of a habit tracker available in the classroom. This will improve students' mental health by helping them to stay motivated. The final organization tool I would like to use to support students is thermal laminating pouches. Important reference materials can be laminated and provided to students. Students' anxiety will be lower when they can easily access their references without fear of accidental damage.

I would also like to support student mental health with the addition of fidget toys and games for my classroom.

Students often reach for their computers or cell phones when assignments are completed early. It's important that technology and class materials remain away during assessments to maintain test security. I would like to help them cut the cord by providing mentally enriching activities that will not distract students still working.
